The Buick Riviera debuted as the manufacturer’s flagship model, offering a high-end personal luxury car combining a smooth & refined ride, luxurious features, and a distinctive design. Finished in metallic black with yellow accents over white upholstery, this 1965 example features a 401ci V8 engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
The Riviera boasted a sleek and distinctive design with a classic, long-nose, short-deck configuration including a distinctive grille with hidden headlights. This example comes finished in a metallic shade of black complemented by yellow accents on each side. Equipment includes chrome-finished bumpers, hood vents, window trim, bullet-style mirrors, “Rivera” lettering, dual exhaust outlets, and Cragar-branded wheels. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin presents white vinyl upholstery contrasted with a black dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Chrome accents decorate the center console, dashboard, and door panels. Prominent Riveria badges and stylized “R” emblems can be found throughout the interior along with Fisher-branded door sills. The seller adds that reproduction digital instrumentation has been installed to match the original gauge cluster. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
Beneath the hood lies a 401ci V8 engine producing as much as 325 HP to the front wheels through a 3-speed TH-400 automatic transmission. Equipment includes power brakes and double wishbone suspension. The seller states that service within the last 3 months included rebuilding the heads, differential, and rear brakes along with the installation of a new carburetor. No outstanding maintenance items are reported at this time.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “The car runs great and all the important work to be done is done by me in a shop in Florida and I can document everything.”
