Handcrafted a decade ago as a roller by well-known builder, Beck, this 1965 Porsche Speedster replica has been fitted with a 2,332cc Bernie Bergmann flat-four cylinder engine along with a 4-speed manual transmission. It is finished in red with a tan canvas soft top and tan canvas tonneau cover over a tan leather interior. Features include a wooden Nardi Classico steering wheel and shift knob, fog lights, a luggage rack, and disc brakes. Reported to have been serviced regularly, this Speedster replica is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
Beck is well-known for using a custom 3” DOM tubular chassis and laminating each panel by hand, which offers increased strength and a lightweight body for a low chance of cracking under stress. This Speedster replica is finished in red with a tan canvas soft top and matching canvas full tonneau cover. It rides on slotted chrome 15” wheels with chrome hubcaps and Vredestein tires. Front fog lamps have been added as well. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is appointed with tan leather and features a wooden Nardi Classico steering wheel and shift knob. Equipment includes a dash-installed Bluetooth stereo, tan carpeting, dual speakers in the firewall, and leather-upholstered shifter and e-brake boots. The Beck-designed chassis floor pan offers optimal torsional rigidity for comfortable ride quality and increased cabin space. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
This Speedster replica is reported to have been fitted with a new air-cooled 2332cc Bernie Bergmann flat-four cylinder VW Type 1 engine with a Porsche 911-style fan shroud. The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed VW Type 1 transmission and stopping power is provided by disc brakes. The seller notes that the car has been regularly serviced.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Fast Beck Speedster. Trouble-free ownership. Pristine condition.”

Good morning 9146max
Carey is a co owner of Beck Speedsters (Special Edition). I left a message for him to call me back.
Haven’t received a call back yet.
I am in my way to take the underside pictures now. Will post shortly.
@carro168 I wanted to follow up on the underside photos and communication with Carey Hines. Is he with Beck?
Good morning 9146max
There isn’t a Beck iD tag on this car. I assume
it’s because it was built as a roller. I am not sure.
There were no Beck documents that came with the car when I bought it. All indications from the interior, to the seats, the turn signal stalk, to the trunk and engine bay, the prop up rods, the location of the battery etc. point to the fact this was built by Beck. I can call Carey Hines on Monday and see if he can tell me anything else. As for the underside shots, I can take some on Monday as the storage facility it is at is not open on weekends. Happy bidding.
Nice car! Can you post a photo of the Beck ID tag and other Beck docs? Any underside photos?

Good morning and thank you for checking out this magnificent Beck speedster. There was a full blown $3840 service done less than 200 miles ago (with receipts) on this beauty which included 4 new Vredestein tires, full alignment, oil change and service, new wheel bearings etc. It was completely gone through and nothing that needed attention was neglected. Happy bidding!
