We are pleased to present this highly sought after, numbers-matching 1965 356 SC Cabriolet. Representing the final iteration in the 356 lineage, the “C” series made its initial debut for the 1964 model year. After taking European delivery of this 356 on March 8th 1965, the original owner had traded it in to a Ferrari dealership in Greenwich, CT where it would be sold locally. This 356 changed hands between a few local collectors before being purchased by the current owner some years ago. Believed to be one of only 533 examples produced, this 356 shows approximately 67k original miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction in exceptional overall condition by its seller in Bedford Hills, NY.
This 356 was professionally repainted in its original Guards Red color just two years ago. The seller states that the exterior remains in excellent condition, showing to be free of any unsightly flaws or imperfections. Exterior features include extended chrome headlight rings, side marker lights and Porsche logo mud guards. This 356 rides on original factory wheels which come wrapped in fresh tires. Beautifully preserved and well presented, this 356 SC is sure to satisfy collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The period-correct black interior is said to be in excellent shape, according to the seller. Interior highlights include a Becker Europa radio, new black leather front seats and new Hartz fabric cabriolet top and headliner. Showing to be in remarkably good conditional throughout, all gauges, electrical components and accessories are said to be fully functional at this time. This 356 is a true time capsule.
This 356 is equipped with a numbers-matching 1.6-liter flat-four “SC” engine. Rated at 95HP, the SC was the most powerful pushrod engine Porsche had made at the time for road-going cars. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a smooth 4-speed manual transmission making for a truly visceral and connected driving experience. The engine was fully rebuilt about 30k miles ago and a recent service was performed which included fluid changes, valve adjustments and new spark plugs. This 356 is said to run and drive beautifully at this time with no issues whatsoever.
The sale of this superb 356 SC Cabriolet will include documentation and repair orders as well as the original owner’s books and toolkit. This 356 stands ready for prompt worldwide delivery and comes with a clear title in the name of the seller’s business. Offered in outstanding overall condition, this rare 356 SC Cabriolet is a Porsche enthusiast’s dream.

@tomscott The engine is original to the car. It has never been re-stamped.
Bid in the amount of $500
The engine number appears to have been re-stamped and is not the original case. Can you have the owner absolutely guarantee that the engine is the original?
