Featuring an air-cooled TurboAir flat-six engine paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle, this 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Sedan is finished in Desert Beige over black vinyl upholstery. It was factory-equipped with optional Custom Deluxe lap belts, front bucket seats, a padded dashboard, folding rear bench seats, headlight grilles, the Convenience Group, and full-size wheel covers. Purchased by the seller in 2022 and presented at the Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance in 2023, this Corvair Monza Sedan is now being offered for auction out of Rhode Island.

Originally assembled at the Willow Run plant in Michigan, this Corvair Monza was factory-finished in Desert Beige. Equipment includes chromed bumpers, a louvered rear decklid, mesh headlamp grilles, dual mirrors, a chrome antenna, reverse lights, tinted glass, and 13” steel wheels with full-size Monza script covers. The car rides on 6.5” Coker US Royal whitewall bias-ply tires. The seller describes the exterior to be in excellent overall condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, black vinyl upholstery covers the front bucket seats, folding rear bench seats, padded dashboard, and door panels. Accessories include Custom Deluxe retractable front lap belts, a black two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring, a rear speaker, a column-mounted tachometer, an illuminated glovebox, and a pushbutton Delco AM radio.

Mounted at the rear, an air-cooled 164ci TurboAir flat-six engine produces up to 95 HP and 154 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transaxle and stopping power comes from drum brakes. Recent maintenance is said to include fluids changes, a new fuel filter, and a new double master brake cylinder. The engine has been fitted with an electronic ignition system and the original ignition coil is included in the sale. The seller adds that the engine leaks some oil and smokes upon startup when the car is stored for long periods.

This sale will include a spare tire, a car cover, a jack, a glass washer fluid container, and a Rhode Island registration in the seller’s name.

Good morning bidders ! Only a few hours Left on this beautiful Corvair. This is a show car . It would be very difficult to find another in this condition. Especially a 4 door sedan with all these options and a 4 speed !
Good luck to you all in this auction.

I had a 1965 Monza with a #1 Interior, #2 lacquer paint with 4 on the floor, bucket seats and factory AC. It was a South Dakota barn find back in 1990 when I was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City. Those were the days! Good luck with this auction!!!
