Designed and built by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), the Mini was originally sold under the Austin and Morris marques before becoming a standalone brand in 1969. This 1964 Austin Mini Cooper benefits from long-term ownership and a documented restoration completed between 2009 and 2013, which included a refinish in green over a two-tone grey and green interior, as well as an upgraded 1,380cc engine sourced from Mini Mania. Equipment includes a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission, an HS6 SU carburetor, upgraded alternator, fog lights, 10” Minilite wheels, a cabin heater, and more. This Cooper is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Maryland.

This example was refinished in green with a contrasting white roof during its comprehensive restoration. Exterior features include chrome bumpers with overriders, a slatted grille, headlight bezels, fog lamps, a driver-side mirror mounted on the A-pillar, polished trim outlining the wheel arches and rocker panels, and a single exhaust outlet. It rides on 10” Minilite-style wheels wrapped in Yokohama ADVAN A008 tires. The seller notes a minor scratch on the hood and front fender that has been touched up. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The left-hand-drive cabin features two-tone grey and green upholstery, with horizontally stitched vinyl on the front and rear bench seats, complemented by a grey dashboard and matching door panels. Interior appointments include a wood-rimmed steering wheel, aftermarket shoulder belts, a column-mounted tachometer, Smiths gauges with chrome bezels, a cabin heater, and black carpeting. All gauges and electronics are reported to function properly.

Power comes from an upgraded 1380cc engine sourced from Mini Mania, paired with a large SU HS6 carburetor and an upgraded alternator. The front wheels are driven through a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission. Stopping power is facilitated by front disc and rear drum brakes. The seller notes that the vehicle has been regularly maintained and will be accompanied by comprehensive service records and restoration documentation.

This sale will include historical photos of the car and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This Mini boasts well-documented ownership and includes historical photos and documents regarding an extensive restoration between 2009 and 2013. Not much was left untouched during that process. More recently, a 1380cc Mini Mania engine was procured and installed, which really wakes this car up….it’s fast! Rolls well on genuine Minilite wheels and fresh rubber. A column mount tach has been added to keep the revs in check with your toe. Classic color combo throughout looks fantastic. A well-sorted, well-documented Cooper that is ready for anyone to enjoy now!”

In picture 199, did someone cut a chunk out of the body to make room for that Chinese radiator? Can you add a better picture of that?
Do you have a picture of the whole speedometer or can to say how high the speedometer numbers go please.
