Beginning life as a 1963 Porsche 356B Super 90 Coupe, this numbers-matching example underwent a custom restoration that included an engine displacement increase to 1,925cc by Steve Schmidt of Honest Engine and a rebuilt transmission by Vic Skirmants of Speedster Gearing. Additional features include a refinish in its original Slate Grey, custom red upholstery with houndstooth inserts by Autobahn Interiors, Fuchs-style wheels, LED lighting, aftermarket bucket seats, a fire suppression system, disc brakes, and other race-inspired components. Driven approximately 1k miles since completion, this tasteful 356 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Oregon.

The exterior has been refinished in its factory-specified shade of Slate Grey. Modifications include LED lighting, headlight grilles, leather hood straps, a driver’s fender-mounted bullet-style mirror, Mobil Oil Pegasus decals, and Fuchs-style wheels. Other details include chrome trim, a twin-grille rear decklid, and a center-mounted exhaust outlet. A collection of additional images is provided in the gallery.

Inside, Autobahn Interiors has reimagined the cabin with custom red upholstery featuring houndstooth-patterned inserts. Details include a body-colored dashboard, tan square-weave carpeting, and matching Coco floor mats. Accessories include a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, green-lettered VDO instrumentation, a pair of stopwatches mounted to the glovebox, aftermarket bucket seats, and a fire suppression system.

The original flat-four engine has been enlarged to 1,925cc by Steve Schmidt of Honest Engine in California. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission overhauled by Vic Skirmants of Speedster Gearing. Upgrades include a 12-volt battery conversion and disc brakes at all four corners. The seller highlights matching engine and transmission numbers, and notes a recent carburetor adjustment and spark plug service.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Now THIS is a 356! Starting life as a 1600CC 356 B, this 356 has undergone a huge restoration and makeover with a completely overhauled motor now bored out to 1925CC, a built transmission, 12-volt system, and lots more. The originally optioned slate grey paint fits this build perfectly with the reupholstered red interior by Autobahn Interiors. Please take a look at all the time and money that went into this 356 "outlaw" in the photo gallery and let's find this beauty a new home!”

Amazing looking outlaw. My idea of what a 356 outlaw should look like. I think "OldSchool" just feels the interior is a tad too "busy" for an outlaw. It's one of those personal taste preferences (Marilyn Monroe or Sophia Loren?) I certainly have no problems with it, especially considering the rest of this wonderful build. And an "outlaw" can/should be lean more to the outrageous side!

Hi. I built this car with the help of Steve Schmidt (engine) and Vic Skirmants (transmission). The engine build used the original case so that it is numbers matching and makes ~130 hp and similar foot-lbs of torque as the cam has been changed. Pistons are Nickies and rods are Carrillo. Nothing was spared building this bulletproof beauty. The tranny is a Vic Skirmants special with Speedster gearing to improve acceleration. Corners have all been upgraded and costly ($4000) "deep dish" original Fuch's are the wheels. The interior is all custom with Fibertech speedster seats. The car has a built-in electronic fire system and includes both oil pressure and temp gauges, along with the usual 356 stuff. The exhaust is custom and sounds awesome. The car has won several awards include "Best of Show" recently. A deep sump was added along with an auxiliary oil radiator in the left front fender with tubing and thermostat expertly installed. There was over $150,000 of work and parts required to upgrade the stock Super 90 to what you see today. There is NO rust and the car is straight and solid. All receipts are available to review. One look and drive and you'll be writing a check. The only way to reproduce this car would be to consider buying one of Rod Emery's at 3-4 X price. . Thx, RAB

@motocarlo there is no heat with this car. The carbs are Weber carbs. I just uploaded some photos of them. I will upload a photo of the dyno chart.
The rust you’re seeing is just surface rust

No heat? More importantly no defrost? Also type of carburetors? I looked through the build sheet and read the handwriting as best I could? Did I miss the mention of carbs? It does mention the dyno, can you post a photo of that. A 1935 , non stroker, making 130. That is impressive. And up front there appears to be rust on the suspension frame. The under carriage photos all look very clean except for that. Curious about that too. Thanks.

$217,000 in restorations - at least as evidenced by your photos - seems exorbitant.

Do you know what is the hp rating after the engine rebuild?

What is your address in Portland?

    Thanks.

Always thought a birth year Porsche would be cool and this looks badArsh! A driving video would go a long way in getting the right money for this beauty.
