The DeVille first appeared as a trim package for the Cadillac Series 62, and later as its own model beginning in 1959. This 1963 example came factory finished in Aspen White over Red leather with extremely rare power-adjustable front bucket seats, a center console, air conditioning, AM/FM radio, power windows, and more. It was originally owned in Tennesse and had reportedly joined a large private collection in 2017 from which it was acquired by the seller. Thoroughly serviced in preparation for its next owner, this beautifully preserved Cadillac DeVille is being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing approximately 12k miles on the odometer.
The DeVille was styled by Bill Mitchell whose other iconic General Motors designs include the 57’ Bel Air, 67’ Buick Riviera, and the Corvette Stingray. For 1963, the Cadillac's tailfins were slightly trimmed down, the front fenders were extended, DeVille script was added to the rear quarter, and the front grille was restyled. The Aspen White (12) finish and chrome brightwork on this example is described to be remarkably well-presented with only minor signs of patina. The 15″ steel wheels feature original crested hubcaps and a newer set of Hankook whitewall tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features rare factory optional power bucket seats with a center console trimmed in Red leather (59B) and a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. The DeVille set a record in 1963 for the most available interior appointments with a total of 143 options to choose from. The electric antenna motor was recently rebuilt and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be working properly apart from the analog clock. The seller reports the mileage shown on the 5-digit odometer to be accurate.
The 390ci V8 engine produces up to 325 HP and drives rear wheels by way of a TH-400 three-speed automatic transmission. A recently completed service included new drive belts, a brake master cylinder, left front brake drum, new exhaust manifold gaskets, various bulbs, a brake fluid flush, and an engine oil and filter change.
This sale will include a spare tire and a clean title. A symbol of old-fashioned American luxury, this 1963 Cadillac DeVille has been impeccably well-kept throughout the years and awaits its next owner.
