Completed in 2011, this 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO tribute is based upon a 1977 Datsun 280Z. In addition to the complete Alpha One fiberglass body kit, the car has been outfitted with a Ferrari-style interior and subject to a complete mechanical restoration including an engine and transmission rebuild as well as several performance upgrades. The car was owned in Northern California and has won multiple awards at various car gatherings over the years including several Best in Show. A faithful recreation of what is widely recognized as the most beautiful car of all time, this Ferrari 250 GTO tribute is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania.
The Alpha One 250 GTO body kit is made from fiberglass and features a long nose section with three distinctive air intakes above the radiator inlet. The exterior is finished in traditional Rosso Corsa paint with premium polymer clearcoat, Scuderia fender shields, Ferrari badging, and racing numbers. It rides on a set of knockoff-style Dayton wire wheels with Ferrari-crested center caps, BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, and a matching full-size spare mounted in the trunk.
The cabin has been redone in Ferrari-style brown and tan upholstery and fitted with a replica Ferrari dashboard, powder-coated racing pedals, and a three-spoke Moto Lita steering wheel. The heating remains fully functional and a modern stereo system has been paired with multiple speakers and a remote amplifier.
The 2.8-liter L28 Datsun inline-six is said to have been rebuilt and upgraded with a ported racing head, a 10 lb. flywheel, a modern fuel injection system, an electric water pump, headers, and an Ansa exhaust. The 5-speed manual transmission has been rebuilt along with the suspension. Other recent services include the installation of an upgraded wiring harness, a new clutch, a new generator, and fuel injector cleaning.
This sale will include a clean title (lien).

I was not discussing price but inquired about your poor layout that doesn’t tell me know whether the reserve was met. The small letters don’t show on my phone.
The way you handle this site is somewhat confusing regarding buying methods. So far I’m not impressed.
Hi, the base is a 1977 Datsun 280Z. Is this date also entered in the title and what is this replica called? Why was the interior renewed when the vehicle was only completed in 2011?
Can you please post photos of the undercarriage?
Thank you and a great replica!
@phil_c - Thanks for your comment. I couldn't agree more. As for your garage and your car fund, maybe we need to free up some space for you.
So much more interesting than the run of the mill Porsche Speedster reproductions! If only my garage wasn’t full and my car fund wasn’t empty…
Beautiful car.
@jboxergt2 - Thanks for your comment. I think it's very cool also. Let's see what happens.
With mods I think this car is in the 289 to 300hp. I had a 77 2+2 with similar mods. Although a 4 spd, man that thing sounded and felt like a vintage race car. This car is very cool!
@Langeoriginals please do not discuss price. Many lose out on a vehicle by trying to guess the reserve. The car is here to sell bid if you are interested. Happy new year.
Have we reached the reserve on this car? I can’t tell what’s going on with pcar market’s formate.

Bid in the amount of $52,601
@jazzyg72 - any estimate of HP would be a guess. As far as I know, the car has never been dynoed or tracked.
@RonSusser any idea on what the estimated HP is on the L28 engine? Has this car ever been tracked? How did she do?
@lastfridaynight - thanks for your comment - I agree. We'll see what happens.
@langeoriginals - atta way to get things rolling.
Wow, this is absolutely beautiful. You NEVER see these in this good of a condition. I know this will go fast.
