Available for auction is a set of 1960s Heuer dash-mounted timers. The set includes a Super Autavia and an Auto Rallye. Introduced in 1958, the Super Autavia was marketed as the world’s first dash-mounted chronograph, designed for race drivers, pilots, and boaters.
Complementing it is the Auto Rallye, a 60-minute stopwatch that debuted in the 1950s and remained in production through the early 1970s. The seller states the Super Autavia is in working condition, while the Auto Rallye requires inspection and both timers are well-preserved with minor rust on the hands and some wear, including a slightly angled cut on the backplate, likely modified to fit their original vehicle.
Whether you are a collector or vintage motorsport enthusiast, these vintage timers would make an excellent addition to any collection. @Teezio Perhaps you didn't see this earlier reply to another bidder: Clarification: the Auto Rallye movement works, i.e. when it is wound, the hand moves normally but neither the crown button nor the reset button will stop it once it gets going.
@Teezio Sorry for the confusion, we were told it wasn't working but we just tested it and as I stated the hand does go round but it doesn't work PROPERLY. Not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes, we are just not experts on these kinds of items!
Confused.
Is the auto rally fully functional and working?
You stated once it is not working and in another post stating you can’t upload videos showing they are working?
Please clarify.
Thanks
We believe the Super Autavia alone is worth $3,000 at least.

I took a video of the timers working but am unable to upload it to this site.

@Nadelson Just tested it again and it winds and the hand goes around fine but pressing the crown doesn't stop it and the reset button doesn't stop it either - it just keeps going so hopefully it's minor adjustments.
@Nadelson Hi -it's fully wound and the crown doesn't just spin.
Not working at could mean a couple of things. Is it fully wound or does the crown just spin? If wound it could need to be disassembled/cleaned and lubricated or it could have a broken balance staff which are not available and need to be fabricated.
@Nadelson There are no markings so we assume the backplate was custom made for a particular car but really don't know.
@MC-Leather The Auto Rallye does not work at the moment.

@seller So the Auto Rallye doesn't work at all? I'm not really sure what "requires inspection" means?
Is it mounted on a Heuer backplate? I dont see any Heuer markings.

Welcome to my auction. These timers had been in a garage for about 8 years since a vintage car enthusiast passed away, hence the small areas of rust on the hands. The Super Autavia is a great example of that Heuer late 60s era.
