Available for auction is this 1960 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ25 finished in green over a tan leatherette interior. This 1960 FJ25 is said to have spent its first 50+ years within its original owner’s family before being acquired by the seller several years ago. It is believed to be the first vehicle to ever climb to the village of Nabusimake, at the heart of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in the 1960s. This FJ25 is equipped with a numbers matching 3.9L Toyota 1F engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, an original mechanical winch, as well as a few modern upgrades such as electronic ignition and power steering. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.
The body of this FJ25 was refinished at some point in its current matte green color and a new tan soft top was fitted earlier in 2022. Features include roll-up canvas rear and side windows, a rear-mounted spare tire, rear bumperettes, a front-mounted winch, and a fender-mounted gas can. An additional custom-made side mirror was added to the passenger side and is easily removable according to the seller. It rides on a set of 16” steel wheels finished in green with chrome hubcaps which are dressed in Yokohama Geolander Mud Terrain tires. The wheels are said to have been refinished in 2021.
The cabin features a front split bench seat and inward-facing rear jump seats upholstered in brown leatherette. Equipment includes rubber floor liners, a glove box, roll-up door windows, and a non-functional period radio and speakers. The seller reports all gauges to remain functional.
Power comes from a numbers matching 1F 3.9L inline 6-cylinder engine which drives the rear or all four wheels by way of a 4-speed manual transmission and a single-speed transfer case. The engine was fitted with electronic ignition and a new starter in 2021. Power steering was added under previous ownership and stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes. The seller notes there is a small intermittent leak from the radiator.
This sale will include a clean title.

@millstoneman no rust. Minor rust repair on floors in 2021. Body panels are solid and seem original. Many parts still available by Toyota, NAPA and others.
Powertrain (engine, transmission and transfercase) was inspected, reapiared and sealed as needed in 2021. This FJ drives and stops amazingly well. Needs nothing. I use it for short comnutes and it is very reliable.
Has there been any rust repair? Are the floors and body panels original? Any engine work? Tranny work? Where would one find parts for this older Land Cruiser? Give more details and information please.
