Based on Dr. Ferdinand Porsche’s pre-war designs, the Porsche-Diesel line of tractors was produced under license by Mannesmann AG at the former Zeppelin factory in Friedrichshafen-Manzell, Germany, from 1956 to 1963. The Junior 108, the most compact and economical model in the lineup, is powered by an 822cc single-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine. This example is said to have been previously owned by a collector in Tuttlingen, Germany. The collector reportedly restored the tractor after acquiring it from its original owners, a neighboring family who used it on their potato farm since 1960. Retired from farm work in the early 1980s, the tractor was used for local festivals and events showcasing farm equipment to the community. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania.
This Porsche Junior 108L is said to have been thoroughly restored and refinished in its traditional combination of red with cream-colored 16”/24” wheels and a matching seat. Details include yellow Junior and Porsche Diesel emblems, a black 3-spoke steering wheel, cream Porsche Diesel lettering along the seatback, and round headlights & taillights with black painted housings. The seller adds that this example was originally specified as an "L" or long-version 108, extending the overall length to suit certain agricultural tasks. Out of the reported 23,000 Porsche-Diesel Junior 108 tractors manufactured, only around 3,000 examples of this rare L model are said to have been produced during that period. The front and rear tires are said to remain in brand-new condition. Additionally, a brand-new Porsche-branded seat pad will accompany the sale. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
This Porsche Junior is equipped with an air-cooled single-cylinder 822cc diesel engine which is capable of producing approximately 14 HP at 2250 RPM. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a dual-range 3-epicyclic 3-speed transmission with high and low ranges. The seller adds this specific tractor was ordered in the "H" version, offering a “Hydrostop” feature that allowed the tractor to start, stop, and steer without requiring the driver to remain seated on the machine. The mechanicals are said to have been fully restored, with no outstanding maintenance items reported.
This Porsche Diesel tractor is offered a bill of sale, US import documents, and a copy of the German title. A brand-new Porsche-branded seat pad is also included, offering comfortable riding through town.
The seller would like you to know: "This Porsche Diesel tractor is offered with a bill of sale as well as the US import documents and copy of the German Title so it can easily be registered anywhere in the US."
