Based on Dr. Ferdinand Porsche’s unique pre-war designs, the Porsche-Diesel line of tractors was produced under license by Mannesmann AG out of the former Zeppelin factory in Friedrichs-hafen-Manzell, Germany from 1956 until 1963. The Junior 108 was the most compact and economical of the range, equipped with an 822cc single-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine. This example was built in late 1959 to be sold in 1960 through the American Porsche-Diesel company of Easton, Pennsylvania. The first tractor to have been restored by the experts at Porsche-Diesel USA, this award-winning Junior 108 is now being offered for auction out of a renowned private collection in New York.

This Junior 108 was comprehensively disassembled and restored to its original appearance by Porsche-Diesel expert Sal Fanelli. It features traditional red paint and proper chrome badging along with off-white 16”/24” colored wheels and a matching steel seat. The seller notes that all parts used during the restoration were either NOS or factory pieces sourced directly from Germany. All of the easily removable parts were powder-coated in RAL3002 while the seats and rims are powder-coated in RAL1014. The emblem on the grille shows the vehicle's association with the Porsche-Diesel Tractor Registry of North America. Detailed images are provided in the gallery and a running video is posted below.

The 822cc single-cylinder Porsche-Diesel engine is equipped with Bosch fuel injection and produces up to 15 HP at 2,250 rpm. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed dual-range manual transmission. A complete engine rebuild was completed during the restoration using NOS parts and an upgraded glow plug for easier starting. An upgraded wiring harness was installed as well. The tractor has been part of the current owner's private collection since 2014 where it has been professionally maintained and stored in a climate-controlled environment.

This Porsche-Diesel Junior 108 is accompanied by some restoration photos and a bill of sale.

The seller would like you to know: "I purchased this Diesel Junior directly from the principal and restorer of Porsche-Diesel USA in 2014. It was restored to the highest standard for the owner himself and remains in the exact condition as it was then. It runs as it should and has been stored in a temperature-controlled museum setting to this day. I never imagined I would ever let it go but it’s time for the next caretaker."

I contacted the restorer who is traveling and cannot assist until he returns, however, he will be able to provide a documentation of the restoration as well as a certificate of authenticity from the restorer. Good luck and hope to see more bids from you as we get near the end!
