Representing the first generation of Chevrolet’s iconic Corvette, this 1960 Chevrolet Corvette was among the last of the model years to offer prominent grille "teeth" along with distinctive taillamps molded into the rear fenders. Powered by a reportedly rebuilt 350 Chevrolet small-block V8 engine connected to a 4-speed manual transmission, this Corvette received refurbishment and modifications at an approximate cost of $28k under the current owner in 2017. It comes finished in metallic blue over black interior upholstery and features an Edelbrock intake & carburetor, a serpentine belt system, a MagnaFlow exhaust, coilover suspension, power rack-and-pinion steering, and 4-wheel disc brakes. Driven approximately 500 miles since the work in 2017, this custom Chevrolet Corvette is now being offered for auction by the selling dealer out of California.
This example is said to have previously received an aftermarket chassis and frame, which was refinished under prior ownership in metallic blue with a matching removable hardtop, silver-painted coves, and extensive chrome trim. Details include quad headlamps, a 9-tooth front grille assembly, split front & rear bumpers, a driver’s side mirror, and iconic taillights integrated within the rear fenders. It rides on polished aftermarket 17” five-spoke wheels dressed in Kingstar Road Fit SK10 tires from 2012. The seller notes that the soft top and spare tire are not included. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin presents black vinyl complemented by carbon fiber trim. The previous owner renewed the seats, seatbelts, carpets, door panels, kick panels, and dash pad. Equipment also includes Carbon Fiber Ultra-Lite AutoMeter gauges, chrome trim, roll-up windows, a push-button radio, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, and a passenger’s side grab handle. The seller notes some clutch chatter at low speeds during acceleration & deceleration, and recommends adjusting the HVAC controls.
Power comes from a previously installed and reportedly rebuilt 350ci Chevrolet small-block V8 engine driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. Upgrades in 2017 included the installation of an Edelbrock four-barrel intake manifold, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, aluminum valve covers and air filter housing, exhaust manifolds, a MagnaFlow exhaust system, a serpentine belt system, a chromed alternator and power steering pump, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, a chrome AC compressor, a dual-chamber master cylinder, four-wheel disc brakes, and four-link & coilover suspension.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “1960 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Roadster. One of 10,261 Corvettes produced in 1960, this car is finished in two-tone Ultra Blue Metallic with Galaxy Silver coves over a black interior. Having gone through an extensive restoration prior to the current owner’s purchase, this example is in absolutely stunning condition inside and out. It has only been driven 526 miles since the restoration was completed in 2017.
It is equipped with a 350ci Chevy V8 small-block, which was said to have been rebuilt prior to the current owner’s purchase. Other features include an Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor, four-speed manual transmission, MagnaFlow exhaust system, power rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel power disc brakes with dual-chamber master cylinder, and four-link suspension on a custom frame with coilover shocks. Cooling is handled by an aluminum heavy-duty radiator with an electric fan, while charging is managed by a chromed alternator. The air-conditioning compressor is also chrome-plated, and the motor-driven accessories are powered by a serpentine belt system.
The renewed interior includes seats, seatbelts, carpets, door panels, kick panels, and dash pad. Custom gauges feature a carbon-fiber look. The hardtop is painted in matching Ultra Blue Metallic with a black headliner. An upgraded sound system was also installed, perfect for long drives or slow cruises.
Since the current owner’s purchase in 2017, over $28,000 worth of upgrades, repairs, and maintenance have been performed by a shop with extensive vintage Corvette experience.
Of note: while the A/C blows cold, some of the aftermarket HVAC functions do not always operate precisely and may require fine-tuning or adjustment for proper operation. There is also slight clutch chatter, noticeable under slow-speed acceleration.”

Hello blubusdrvr
Thank you for your comments
Regarding the transmission : the transmission in the car looks like a Borg Warner GM cast iron case T-10 transmission that was originally supplied on many 1960 Corvettes. I do not know if it is the original transmission for this car or not The same goes for the differential as we did not do the modification so we do not know where the components were sourced
We have posted photos of the right and left attachment points for the convertible top frame
Complete frames are available aftermarket for anyone that may wish to add a soft top to this car
Interesting build. Is that the original T-10 transmission? Surprised a C2 rear wasn't utilized but the what ifs (and $$$) can be a slippery slope. Can you add a couple of pictures of the attachment points in the convertible boot for anyone interested in adding that. Thanks
