The open two-seater Spider version of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta features classic Italian-designed bodywork by Pininfarina. This 1960 example is finished in red over a black vinyl interior featuring reupholstered seats with red piping. It comes equipped with an upgraded 1.6-liter twin-cam inline 4-cylinder engine paired with a Solex carburetor and a 5-speed manual transmission. This U.S. market Giulietta Spider is said to have spent nearly its entire life in California and was cared for by the same family over the last four decades. It was acquired by its seller in 2023 and is now being offered for auction out of California on dealer consignment.
The Pininfarina bodywork of this Spider is said to have been refinished in the current shade of red under previous ownership. It comes equipped with a retractable black soft top, polished bumpers and body trim, a driver’s side mirror, Pininfarina fender badges, and painted 15” steel wheels with polished Alfa Romeo Hubcaps. The car rides on a set of 155/50 America AT-909 radial tires and the seller notes some paint bubbles are present on the rocker panels. Some paint bubbling is noted, and detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior highlights a pair of reupholstered black vinyl seats with contrasting red piping along with matching carpets and door panels. Accessories include a wooden Alfa Romeo-crested gear knob, analog Veglia gauges, Simpson lap belts, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, a heater, a Pininfarina-branded dash cover plate, a locking glovebox, and a black two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring and an “Alfa Romeo Special” center badge. The seller notes the seats were reupholstered in 2015 along with the fitment of new carpeting and refurbishment of all gauges by Palo Alto Speedometer of California.
An upgraded 1.6-liter twin-cam inline-four engine featuring a Solex carburetor has been equipped. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. Stopping power comes from finned drum brakes at each corner. A replacement electric fuel pump was installed in 2019 along with new oil coolant senders, shock absorbers, and tie rod ends. Another service in March 2023 included new front wheel cylinders and brake shoes as well as a brake fluid flush. The seller states invoices are included which show over $25k invested in service throughout the years.
This sale will include a clean title.

@mohrimports Thank you, nice car I had a '63 Giulia Spider in the same color combination many years ago.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
@FawsittMotors - just had another look at the car. That is glue residue from the insulation falling down that goes between the spare tire and the metal that separates the back from the trunk compartment. We have additional photo that we will try to post.
What's going on regarding the rust behind where the spare wheel mounts, visible in the first video?
