From 1956 until 1963, Mannesmann AG produced the Porsche-Diesel series of tractors out of the former Zeppelin factory in Friedrichshafen-Manzell, Germany, based on Dr. Ferdinand Porsche's distinctive pre-war designs. The Junior 108 was the most compact and economical of the range, equipped with an 822cc single-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine. This example was imported from Germany by the seller approximately three years ago. It was then treated to a full restoration including fresh paint, a new clutch, new tires front and rear, seat and fender covers, and various trim throughout. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Ohio.
During its restoration process, this Junior 108 is said to have been stripped down and restored with new Carmine Red and Creamy Beige paint, Porsche Diesel emblems and emblem plates, a NOS seat with a reproduction cover, fender covers, new lighting front and rear, a new steering wheel. The seller states that all parts were either purchased from Porsche-Diesel expert Sal Fanelli, or new reproduction. Its 16”/24” yellow-finished wheels have been dressed in a new set of tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Power comes from an original air-cooled single-cylinder 822cc diesel engine that produces 14 HP at 2250 RPM and is paired with a dual-range 3-epicyclic 3-speed transmission with high and low ranges. During the restoration process, the engine was partially disassembled and its compression was checked, while a new clutch was installed. Some parts that were replaced during the restoration include a new voltage regulator, wiring harness, ignition switch, horn, temperature gauge, muffler, throttle cable, and battery.
This sale will include a bill of sale.
The seller would like you to know: "Thank you for visiting my auction. I’m a Porsche collector here in Columbus Ohio, essentially I got into tractors because I paid my way through medical school selling sweet corn so we had some old Ford tractors, and I got a passion for it. I imported this Junior 3 years ago and started the restoration process. I’ve purchased every part either new reproduction or new old stock from Sal Fanelli at Porsche Diesel USA. I am very pleased with this restoration, and I am confident the next owner will be as well!"

Coming to the homestretch, I would be available for any local buyers here in central Ohio to have you inspect/drive the tractor if needed, I took it out last night started up without a problem. Running find no leaks ready for the next collector.
In regards to the hydraulics, we also ordered a hydraulic seal kit that was replaced by the restoreR. This restoration was done with an open check book. Anything that looked woreout or non-functioning was replaced. I want to make particular notation and the entire electrical system was redone, including ignition and gauges so the new owner does not have to deal with all the friable electrical issues.
@Dutchburgess I added photos of the cushions they’re still in the plastic, the side cushions over the fenders have a really nice clasping system, I took a video of the hydraulics, I want to clarify, however, this is not like a traditional three point system, because the hydraulic arms are quite short
Can you take photos of the cushions that would go with the tractor?
Can you also do a Hydraulics video?
Thank you

@Dutchburgess rear platform is standing only, does not retract
Hydraulics work I’ll try to get a video when I get back to the office Tuesday
I have the original side cushions which will go with the sale that are not photographed in the new ones that I purchased. Everything goes with the sale, including a repair manual.
I have not noticed any throttle creep, but I know what you’re referring to, I had this happen on a previous Junior, in this case it’s got only throttle cables and I had Sal rebuild the injection pump so it runs smooth as a one cylinder will run
Is the rear platform for standing only…which I assume, and does it retract?
Hydraulics work?
Do you experience any creep in the throttle at speed?
Does all the cushioning go with the sale?
Thank you,
Dutch
