Commissioned by the original owner from JPS Motorsports of California, this 1958 Porsche 356A Coupe replica features handcrafted fiberglass bodywork in Fjord Green over a tan leather interior and derives power from a custom-built 2,332cc engine. The car showcases a modern RetroSound audio system, air-conditioning, disc brakes, and anti-roll bars along with an interchangeable sport steering wheel and short shifter. Having been cared for by its current owner for about one year, this professionally crafted 356A Replica is now being offered for auction out of Washington with under 3k miles showing on the odometer.
The hand-laid and steel-reinforced fiberglass bodywork is mated to a reconditioned Volkswagen chassis and comes finished in the period-correct Porsche color of Fjord Green. The body is decorated with chrome brightwork, headlight covers, and bumper guards, as well as a polished driver’s side mirror, front fog lights, gold Porsche 1600 Super lettering, a Reutter fender badge, and 15” slotted steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and Solaris Starfire tires (0320). An additional set of front fog lights is said to be included and the seller notes some stone chips on the nose. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is trimmed in tan leather upholstery with classic beige square weave carpeting and a painted dashboard. The driver is situated in a low-back Speedster-style bucket seat while a standard passenger’s seat is upholstered in matching leather. A white two-spoke Porsche-crested steering wheel is fitted, and an aftermarket wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel is also included along with an interchangeable billet aluminum shifter. Other accessories include a RetroSound audio system, replica VDO gauges, a locking glovebox, tan Coco floor mats, pop-out rear quarter windows, a dashboard clock, power windows, and an under-dash air conditioning system.
Power comes from an air-cooled 2,332cc engine with dual carburetors that drives the rear wheels through a 4-speed Freeway Flyer transmission. Other features include an independent rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, front & rear sway bars, and a stainless-steel exhaust system.
This sale will include an additional steering wheel, shifter, and fog light set as well as a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “The car runs absolutely great! It is very light and very quick! Cruises all day at 80 miles an hour without a problem, A/C blows ice cold, it has power windows, and I would drive this car cross country tomorrow without thinking twice.”

@RandR @c9c no but you can call JPS, they know the car and will answer any questions. When I bought the car that’s what I did and that’s where I got all of my info on the car. Just tell him it’s the Fjord green coop that was built for the guy in Marin County.

Bumpers or no bumpers?
Which steering wheel Wood or Ivory Porsche wheel?
Wheel Lug pattern?
The car is beautiful!
@JackDeSoto sorry I’m using Siri and it’s mutilating my words lol
@HemiSam thank you
@zollerm both
@BubbaMcCranky back in the 50s and 60s you can order a Porsche from the factory just like that, they called it, the “wife“ seat. The gentleman who commissioned the build chose to order the seats in that fashion as a tribute to a time when you can do that. So no, I do not have another seat.
I'm curious about the mismatched seats. Could you explain why the front seats don't match and whether there are alternative matching seats that would come with the car? (either both like the passenger seat or both like the driver's seat)?
