The successor to MG’s prewar T-Type Midget, the MGA is a two-door two-seater sports car that was produced in England from 1955 until 1962. This 1958 example is an MGA 1500 Roadster finished in red over tan leather upholstery. It features a 4-speed manual gearbox paired with its 1,489cc inline-four engine, dual SU carburetors, 15” wire spoke wheels, a wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel, and rack & pinion steering. Having been under the seller’s care since 2011, this classic British roadster is now being offered for auction out of Florida accompanied by a British Motor Industry Heritage Tryst certificate.
This MGA was refinished in red from its original black color under prior ownership and features a retractable black convertible top, chrome bumpers and trim, a rear luggage rack, window wings, and dual fender-mounted mirrors. It rides on 15” wire spoke wheels with knock-off hubs and Michelin XZX tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery and the seller indicates some of the photos were taken in May 2022.
The cabin features tan leather bucket seats with matching door panels, black carpeting, and a body-colored dashboard. Accessories include a wood-rimmed three-spoke Moto-Lita Lecarra steering wheel, a wood gear knob, door map pockets, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, a heater, and analog Jaeger instrumentation. The seller notes the speedometer needle sporadically jumps and the tachometer is inoperable.
Power comes from a 1,489cc B-Series inline-four engine featuring dual SU carburetors and an Intermotor Sports ignition coil. The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transmission and stopping power comes from disc brakes at each corner. The car is also equipped with rack & pinion steering and coil-sprung independent front suspension with hydraulic campers. The brakes are said to have been adjusted in June 2024 along with a new clutch kit, slave cylinder, and overhauled carburetors.
This sale will include an owner’s manual, side curtains, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean title.

It is a fun little car, I still love it! Nevertheless, it would be great if it went to an owner who can drive it more regularly. We will see what happens.
Thank you. It is a beautiful car and very tempting!
@jab7106 yes, apart from the rev counter, and the speedometer does bounce a little

Do all the gauges and electronics work as they should??
Yes, that is correct
It looks to me that the brakes are drums not disks.
Good evening, here - after much soul searching - is my Little British Car up for auction. I have owned it for 13 1/2 years although I cannot tell you the history before then. Reason - I bought the MG in Paris when I was working there and used it to drive around Paris and the surrounding area. I then brought it back with me to the US (where it was originally delivered some 66 years ago) as we settled down here in Florida. However, driving here has been minimal because of the heat (mainly) but also Florida roads are generally straight and wide with few twisty turns to enjoy in a car such as this. In getting it ready for the sale I noticed a slipping clutch, so that has been replaced, also tuned the carbs and put new brake pads on the front. This is not a Concours queen but a good and faithful driver which I will be sorry to lose. However for another enthusiast in the right environs, it will definitely be a fun car to own. Please let me know of any questions, and I will answer as soon as I can
