Built in 1989 by Classic Motor Carriages (CMC) of Miami, Florida, this "Classic Speedster" 1957 Porsche 356A replica is based on a Volkswagen chassis and powered by an air-cooled 2.0L engine. It was acquired by the current owner in April of 2022 after it had been maintained in storage for some time and has since been refreshed with fuel system service. Said to have been driven just over 2k miles since completion, this Speedster replica is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Ohio.
The replica fiberglass bodywork is finished in Red and decorated with Porsche Speedster badging, chrome brightwork, and a black tonneau cover for the retractable soft top. Other details include quad exhaust tips, a chrome driver’s side mirror, and chrome 15” slotted wheels with matching hubcaps. Noted imperfections include minor scratches and swirls throughout the body, two missing snaps from the tonneau cover, and two squared edges cut from the tops of each door to improve body fitment and prevent cracks from spreading. The seller adds that the brightwork is in excellent condition and states the vehicle presents very nicely overall, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is trimmed in brown vinyl upholstery and lined with plush carpeting that carries to the backs of the bucket seats. Details include a body-colored lower dashboard and instrument surround, a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, a wooden gear knob, and a suite of analog instrumentation with black dials and orange pointer needles. Some wear is visible on the seating surfaces and the seller notes faded areas on the original carpeting. The fuel level gauge functions intermittently and the steering wheel is misaligned to the left, although the vehicle's wheel alignment is stated to be straight.
The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transmission paired with an air-cooled 2.0L flat-four engine featuring dual Dellorto carburetors. Performance features include front disc brakes and KYB shock absorbers. The seller describes this Speedster to be in very strong driving condition having undergone recent service of the carburetors and fuel system. Some older service records are included showing varying maintenance from the body to the engine.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, a spare tire, and service records. The title issued by the state of Ohio includes an “exceeds mechanical limits” mileage notation, however, the seller contests this as a clerical error and declares the mileage shown on the odometer is accurate.

If there's any interest, I can include a pair of red bucket seats that I bought for the car but never put in. They would need some bracket modifications to fit perfectly.

Hey everyone, seller here! Looking forward to answering any questions.
Some may recognize my name from RADwood, as I am a founder.
I honestly love this car to death but it doesn’t make sense for me to keep it through winter.
