Available for auction is this 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster widebody replica. This custom Speedster was built in Arizona and features a dual-carbureted 1643cc Volkswagen engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Other equipment includes custom polished alloy wheels, a premium sound system, air conditioning, and a soft top with removable side curtains. Showing just over 4k miles on the odometer, this unique widebody Speedster replica is being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona.

The fiberglass bodywork is a widened representation of a 356A Speedster and comes finished in silver with a black retractable Hartz soft top and removable side curtains. Details include chrome brightwork, Porsche Carrera badging, color-matched bumpers, headlight stone guards, dual side mirrors, and a chrome rear luggage rack. It rides on a set of custom 17” polished alloy wheels with Porsche crest center caps and Winstar tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The seats are trimmed red leather with matching upholstery on door panels, upper dashboard, and lever boots. Equipment includes a Nardi-style wood-rimmed steering wheel, a wooden shift knob, air conditioning, and a multispeaker sound system with a head unit mounted beneath the dash.

Power comes from an air-cooled 1643cc flat-four Volkswagen engine with dual-carburetors, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels.

This sale will include an operating manual and a clean title. With classic styling and visceral air-cooled power, this Speedster widebody is just waiting to be enjoyed.

@Mvah000 congratulations on snagging that winning the bid. This is one of my absolute favorite replicas I've seen on the site in a long time. A congratulatory gift from my studio as you celebrate:

@Blueprint I do not know the specific color. I wish I could tell you.

  • Blueprint 2 years, 7 monthsago

Do you know the exact color? Meteor Grey or Agate Grey?

  • WhiteShadow (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@geardarizona In all fairness, it does sound like a cold start. Is it cold in AZ? Maybe let it warm up a bit, and then repost the start and record the engine a bit longer. Perhaps even take it for a spin so we can see it and hear it drive.

  • geardarizona (seller) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@WhiteShadow the engine runs and drives great. The car isn’t driven much. And like any carbureted engine, it takes a little time for it to warm up. This was a completely cold start I took a video of. So it would show it at its worst instead of it at its best.

  • WhiteShadow (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

The sound of that idle worries me a bit. Sounds like it needs a tune-up.

  • geardarizona (seller) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@TyStav I uploaded two videos. One of it starting from the drivers seat and one with the view of the engine.

  • TyStav (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

Do you have driving video or startup video? Thanks!

Well-presented replicas are *such* a good value nowadays, I feel. Great addition to the PCarMarket auctions. GLWS

@sce1214 they don’t have any rash at all.

  • sce1214 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

The passenger side wheels look like they have some rash. Is it possible to get a close up of each wheel?

  • WhiteShadow (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

    This is my highest bid.

@WhiteShadow those are a couple very small chips. That’s why we don’t take it out much. We don’t like any chips at all. The ones a very very minor.

@geardarizona Sounds good. That mark, and the front hoot below the decal. Are those chips in the paint? Or can that be buffed as well?

  • WhiteShadow (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@geardarizona Good to go, thanks for the reply. The paint looks very nice. Great color choices. Great selections. It's beautiful.

  • geardarizona (seller) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@WhiteShadow I do see what you are looking at. It’s a small scuff that needs a little buff. It will be done professionally.

  • geardarizona (seller) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@WhiteShadow there is no scratch below the luggage rack. The paint and body are relatively flawless.
