One of the most iconic American cars of the 1950s, the Chevrolet Bel-Air was introduced in 1950. This second-generation 1957 convertible is said to be one of only 69 “fuelies” produced for the model year, equipped with Rochester Ram-Jet continuous mechanical fuel injection. This Bel-Air Convertible was refinished in Matador Red during a full frame-off restoration in the early 2000s and came factory optioned with a 3-speed column-mounted manual transmission, power steering, power brakes, a power top, and a Continental rear-mounted spare tire kit. This rare 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air convertible is being offered at auction by its seller out of Missouri.

The exterior was refinished in Matador Red (802) from its original Onyx Black color and includes a white power convertible top and a red tonneau cover. Other equipment includes chrome bumpers, a mesh front grill, fog lights, chrome trim, chrome hood-mounted wind splits, chrome door mirrors, chrome-capped rear quarter panel fins, vent windows, twin antennas, “Fuel Injection” badges, and a rear-mounted Continental spare tire kit and cover. The 14” steel wheels are dressed with polished hubcaps, knock-off spinners, and BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The interior features front and rear bench seating reupholstered in silver and red vinyl with matching door panels, a red padded dashboard, and a red steering wheel, accented with chrome trim. Amenities include a heater, roll-up windows, Fisher-branded door sill guards, a locking glovebox, an analog clock, and red rubber Bel-Air floormats. A modern AM/FM radio was installed during the restoration.

This Bel-Air is powered by a 283ci Super Turbo Fire V8 engine equipped with Rochester Ram-Jet continuous mechanical fuel injection, factory rated at 283 HP and 290 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a 3-speed column-mounted manual transmission. Factory options include front power disc brakes and power steering.

This sale will include a clean title.

One item that may need amending is that there was no option for "factory disc brakes" in '57.
