Before launching its own line of tractors in 1957, Porsche designed and built engines for the German tractor manufacturer Allgaier GmbH under the Allgaier Diesel Porsche System brand. This 1956 Allgaier AP22 Porsche-Diesel is powered by an air-cooled 1.5-liter diesel twin-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission with a dogleg first gear. It also equips a rear power takeoff, a hydraulically actuated three-point rear hitch, and a rear portal axle. Reportedly refurbished under prior ownership in Italy in the 2010s, this classic tractor is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Utah.
This AP22 was previously refinished in red with a matching sprung steel driver’s seat, a black-finished three-spoke steering wheel, a wood-bottom bench mounted on the left-rear fender, and cream-painted steel wheels. Equipment also includes headlights, taillights, a rear rotating warning light, 4.50-16″ Kleber front tires, and 11.2×28″ Alliance rear tires. Allgaier-Porsche and Porsche badging are present, and accessories include a rear power takeoff (PTO) shaft, a hydraulically actuated three-point rear hitch, a temperature gauge, and a number plate holder.
Rated at 22 HP, the air-cooled 1.5-liter diesel twin-cylinder engine drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and a portal axle. The seller adds that the engine and transmission are reported to have been rebuilt as part of the previous refurbishment. Additionally, the starter was replaced approximately three months ago.
This AP22 is offered with a bill of sale.
The seller would like you to know: "Porsche Salt Lake Lake City is excited to sell our prized Allgaier Porsche tractor. We are moving into a new facility soon and, unfortunately, do not have any room slotted for this beautiful tractor. Hopefully, it will go into good hands. Happy bidding!"
