A series of compact utility tractors, the Oliver Super 55 was produced by the Oliver Farm Equipment Company in Battle Creek, Michigan from 1954 to 1958. This 1956 example has undergone cosmetic restoration along with mechanical refurbishment including a 12-volt electrical system, new wiring harness, new lights, a rebuilt alternator, and new ring gear. This collectible American tractor is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona.
The seller indicates this Oliver Super 55 has been completely refinished in its original green color with a white front grille, red-painted wheels, and hand-painted yellow lettering. New headlights and taillights have been installed along with new gauges and wiring. The seller notes the rear power takeoff shaft (PTO) remains fully functional, although the gauges and inoperable and the Firestone tires are about 15 years old.
This Oliver 55 Super is equipped with a liquid-cooled 2.4L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers approximately 36 HP to the rear wheels through an unsynchronized manual transmission with 6 forward gears, 2 reverse gears, and a dry plate clutch. The seller states a 12-volt electrical system has been equipped, the alternator has been rebuilt, and new ring gear has been installed along with new belts and hoses.
This tractor is offered with a bill of sale.
The seller would like you to know: “Thanks for looking at my Oliver Tractor! I've had this beauty for years but only to enjoy parked out front of my building. It's time to let the Oliver either go to work or be admired by others. The Oliver has been in Arizona for years and has a rust-free body. A cosmetic restoration has just been completed.”
