Representing the second generation of Ford’s postwar pickup lineup, the F-100 remains a popular platform among custom truck builders thanks to its timeless styling and durable body-on-frame design. This 1955 example was disassembled, refurbished, and extensively modified under prior ownership. It is powered by a rebuilt 289ci V8 equipped with a Holley carburetor and paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and rebuilt differential. Finished in a custom pearl orange exterior over a reupholstered tan interior, it features a Heidts Superide II front suspension, 17” REV wheels, a dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers, a mahogany-lined bed, power windows, and a Pioneer audio system. With approximately 500 miles driven since its build completion, this thoughtfully restored F-100 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This example was refinished in pearl orange and features a V-double-bar grille, modern headlights, and polished stainless-steel front and rear bumpers. The running boards and 3” widened rear fenders are fiberglass, and the doors have been fitted with a “big window” conversion. A custom VIN tag has been applied, and the hood features a tilt-forward mechanism. The bed is lined with polished mahogany planks separated by polished runners with concealed hardware and a flush-mounted fuel filler. It rides on aftermarket 17” REV wheels, with the front tires and left-front upper ball joint replaced in March 2025. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features custom bucket seats from Glide Engineering and power-operated windows. A wood-rimmed steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column, and a set of Dolphin gauges is installed in the dashboard. Additional equipment includes a Lokar shifter and throttle pedal, along with a Pioneer stereo system concealed in the glove box and connected to speakers in the kick panels, which also house a master cutoff switch. The truck is not equipped with heating or air conditioning, though all other gauges and electronics are reported to function properly with no warning lights illuminated.
Power comes from a rebuilt 289ci V8 equipped with a Holley carburetor, headers, and an MSD ignition system. Additional equipment includes AN fuel lines and an aluminum radiator. The rear wheels are driven through a 3-speed automatic transmission and a rebuilt differential. The dual exhaust system features MagnaFlow mufflers and Gibson tips. The suspension has been upgraded with a Heidts Superide II independent front end and Posies rear springs, while Wilwood front disc brakes facilitate stopping power.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Absolute stunning classic Hot Rod. Full frame-off and nut-and-bolt restoration is perfectly done. It will win many trophies at a car show, a great investment.”
