Available for auction is this 1952 Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle finished in Beige over a beige cloth interior. Produced from 1948 to the end of 1952, the split-window Beetles are considered purest to the original Ferdinand Porsche design and remain the most coveted by collectors by far. Among the last of the split-window Beetles, this 1952 example was imported to Mexico in 1995 and acquired by the prior owner about 15 years ago before being restored and eventually sold to the current owner in 2021 as part of a collection. This final-year split-window 1952 example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Mexico.
This Beetle was completely refinished in the current nonmetallic Beige paint color during its restoration and sports an early split-window bodyshell with chrome brightwork, bumpers, and rocker panels. The seller notes some imperfections and patina throughout the body as well as a minor blemish on the hood. Several traces of rust are also present as depicted in the photo gallery. The wheels are painted to match the exterior and come fitted with chrome hubcaps and a set of whitewall tires.
Inside, the four-seater cabin is trimmed in striped beige upholstery with matching carpets and a distinctive early-style painted dashboard with dual gloveboxes. Features include a three-spoke banjo-style steering wheel, manual window rollers, an analog clock, a dashboard grab handle, and a rear dome light. The cabin exhibits signs of age and patina commensurate with the exterior.
Power comes from an air-cooled 1,131cc flat-four engine driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox. Routine maintenance is said to have been carried out annually by the specialists at ProRally with major services performed in 2014, 2018, and most recently in 2021 including overhauls of the engine, gearbox, and brakes. Images of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title. One of the earliest and purest examples of Volkswagen's iconic Beetle, this final-year split-window Coupe makes a fantastic complement to any classic car collection.

@Maggio.1 thank you for the quick response. On front fender, could you tell me if there is a metal wire conduit tube from back of head light bucket to body of car when you look behind the front tire? Or is it just wires or rubber sleeve. Sorry for the last minute details but they make a substantial difference in value.
Best regards.
@rider.01 thank you very much for your comment!

We’re getting the quote for the transportation! Normally from California to Laredo we pay around 1,750 usd in an enclosed trailer but we will look for the best price .
Yes there is a minor bend to the hood. Probably when they closed it ones was a stocked and it bend.
We didn’t restored the car so I don’t know exactly if the fenders are the originals to the car. They probably are.
Since the service done there is no oil leaking. It probably be gas that the carburetor drop. Nothing to worry about it. We will check it for you before we send it.
Regards
Beautiful car. Very interested in shipping to ca. can you estimate cost from Laredo Tx to Ventura ca ? Also, in the photos the front hood seems to have a rather large gap when closed, has there been any damage to front apron and spare tire area to cause this? Are all fenders original or aftermarket and lastly, any idea where the excessive oil leak might be coming from ? Thank you very much for any information.
@Pizzaman1985 we send it to Laredo and then to Maryland!!

@CCCltd The car was bought in 1993 in Texas, USA. In 1995 the car was sold and imported to Mexico. Fifteen years ago the previous owner purchased the car. When it was purchased the car was restored and could have been a concourse car. The owner was reserved and so there were no competitions in which the car was involved. The previous owner sold his entire car collection to the new owner in 2021.
The Made In Western Germany plate Was painted in gold color by the previous owner, the plates on this car are in perfect conditions and original.

@pcarenthuz thanks for asking!!
We can help you with the transportation!! The cost for the VW from Mexico City to Laredo TX will be 600 Usd in an enclosed trailer and we have a place to keep it in Laredo TX. We can also help in the transport in the US or the new owner can pick it up.
Just a general question regarding transportation. How would one appropriately contract with a transport company to move the car from Mexico City to the US/US border? What should the anticipated budget for this be?
Hello I’m the cars current owner. I would like to thank you in advance for your interest in the car. I am here for any upcoming question. Please let me know if I can be of service.
