The B Series “pilot house” was introduced in 1948 as the first postwar Dodge pickup truck and was produced up until 1953. Finished in two-tone Burgundy and Magnolia, this Canadian-built 1950 example is a DF1-08 ½-ton truck and is said to have undergone a complete rotisserie restoration at a cost of approximately $220k CAD. It features an upgraded power steering system, a modern Bluetooth radio, and an overhauled flathead straight-six engine paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. This classic Dodge pickup is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada.
During the rotisserie restoration, this B Series pickup was refinished in a two-tone theme of Burgundy and Magnolia paint. The model designation "DF1-08" indicates this B-Series is a Canadian-built ½-ton pickup with a 108” wheelbase. The truck is decorated with chrome bumpers, mirrors, door handles, windshield wiper arms, trim pieces, and a chrome hood ornament. Equipment includes an adjustable wind fairing, wood-plank bed flooring with bright trim strips, a dropdown tailgate, side running boards, and dual side-mounted spare wheels. It rides on Burgundy-painted wheels with chrome Dodge-logoi hubcaps and whitewall tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features a bench seat trimmed in white and red vinyl along with a black rubber floor liner, a painted dashboard, and black vinyl door panels with contrasting red armrests and chrome handles & window cranks. Accessories include a gloss black three-spoke steering wheel, polished dashboard knobs, a heater and defroster, a locking glovebox, and a dash-mounted speaker paired with a Bluetooth radio.
The ½-ton B-Series pickup came standard with a 95 HP flathead straight-six engrained paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. The seller indicates the drivetrain was completely overhauled during the restoration along with the installation of a modern power steering system, and less than 300 miles have been driven since.
This sale will include rare original owner’s manuals and workbooks, some documentation, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Clean as a whistle, fresh as a flower. Museum Quality Condition 1, 100 points. Would be the perfect attraction on a turntable inside a Dodge / Ram dealership.”
