Available for auction is a pedal-powered BMW 328 Roadster ride-on car manufactured by Toys Toys in Italy. This ride-on car was licensed by BMW and displays details mirroring the real BMW 328 Roadster. The seller states the pedal car is in very good condition with only minor patina in the form of a few scrapes and slightly yellowed headlights.
The original car was manufactured between 1936-1940 with only 464 produced. The 328 was introduced at the Eifelrennen race at the Nürburgring in 1936, where Ernst Henne drove it to win the 2.0-litre class. The 328 had more than 100 class wins in 1937, including the RAC Tourist Trophy, the Österreichische Alpenfahrt, and the La Turbie hillclimb. In 1938, the 328 won its class at the RAC Tourist Trophy, the Alpine Rally, and the Mille Miglia. The 328 also won the RAC Rally in 1939 and came in fifth overall and first in class in the 1939 24 Hours of Le Mans. Frank Pratt won the 1948 Australian Grand Prix driving a 328.
The pedal car features a plastic body on a metal frame construction with soft rubber tires for optimum traction. It’s driven by twin foot pedals and features the BMW logo on all four wheels, the spare wheel, the steering wheel, and the hood. Additional details include a faux chrome grille and headlights, decal stickers, a three-spoke steering wheel, and faux leather hood straps. Its dimensions are approximately 45” x 20” x 17”. This car is fully functional ready to ride or be displayed as a reminder of history. Along with the pedal car comes the framed print of Frank Pratt racing the 1948 Grand Prix. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees.
