Produced from 1999 to 2004, the Ferrari 360 Modena adopted an innovative all-aluminum space-frame chassis developed by Alcoa, departing from traditional Ferrari design principles to prioritize usability and serviceability. Esteemed for its relative reliability and accessible pricing among exotic cars, the 360 serves as an enticing entry into the realm of high-end European sports cars. This 2001 example, finished in Grigio Alloy over blue leather, pairs a 6-speed F1 sequential transmission with its 3.6-liter V8 engine. It comes equipped with 18” five-spoke alloy wheels, a Challenge-style rear grille, power-adjustable seats, automatic climate control, and a Kenwood CD stereo system. Showing under 16k miles on the odometer, this 360 Modena is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

The Pininfarina-designed aluminum bodywork comes finished in Grigio Alloy. Exterior features include xenon headlights, a Challenge-style rear grille, red-finished Ferrari-branded brake calipers, and quad exhaust outlets. The front bumper cover is said to have been previously refinished, while other areas were refinished upon current ownership along with the addition of tricolore over-the-top stripes. Additionally, the front bumper, hood, mirrors, fenders, and rocker panels have been protected with paint protection film. It rides on gunmetal-finished 18” five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 EVO2 tires. Detailed images are available in the gallery, along with a CARFAX report which states the "vehicle was not damaged" in an incident while the vehicle was parked in February 2013.

The interior showcases power-adjustable seats adorned with Cavallino Rampante logos on the headrests and upholstered in blue leather that extends to the lower dashboard and door panels. Amenities include automatic climate control, aluminum pedal covers, and a Kenwood CD stereo paired with a JL Audio amplifier. The leather-wrapped steering wheel hosts column-mounted paddles and provides access to a digital fuel level readout and various gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, and coolant temperature. The seller notes the front defroster vents show signs of wear, but all gauges and electronics are working properly.

Power is derived from a mid-mounted 3.6-liter Tipo F131 V8, delivering a factory-rated 395 HP and 275 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through an electrohydraulic 6-speed F1 sequential transmission and a limited-slip differential. It features a flat-plane crankshaft, dry-sump lubrication, dual overhead camshafts, five valves per cylinder, carbon-fiber airbox covers, and a Tubi-style exhaust system. Braking power is facilitated by cross-drilled and ventilated rotors at each corner. Recent servicing under current ownership involved oil change, air conditioning system recharge, and replacement of timing belts, tensioners, drive belts, fuel pump, camshaft seals, and valve cover gaskets.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals, service records, and a title.

Didn't sell a week ago at $67k plus fees. I think some reality of the market needs to sink in...

I stopped bidding. I saw in the picture of the rear passenger side fender something not very clear. Is that a chip in paint on rear fender?

The blue interior looks bad in pictures but looks great with a silver car in person. Looks like the clutch is original? Did the dealer measure how much life is left?

Quick question: when was the last time this vehicle had a timing-chain/belt service? For the 360s, that's an engine-out major, correct?

Do the stripes come off easily?

  • eurocol (seller) 8 monthsago

    @HonkHonk
correct, safely stored, accounts for low mileage, and then completely inspected by Ferrari of Los Angeles,
all everything noted by them was corrected.
Car now fully sorted and ready to be driven more without any worries or concerns.

  • HonkHonk (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

@AmeliaIslander On the blue interior, I don't think it's classically beautiful, but it has a certain Italian flamboyance that I think is neat for this car.

  • AmeliaIslander (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

@HonkHonk - thanks. I' can't get past the interior blue so won't be bidding. If you are, good luck

  • HonkHonk (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

@AmeliaIslander The plea agreement in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA v. NICHOLAS A. BORGESANO, JR.
    CASE NO. 8:16-cr-00353-JSM-JSS
The car was seized as part of a very big restitution. https://www.justice.gov/usao-mdfl/press-release/file/1008931/dl
You see in Carfax the registration events stopped after 2015 then a dealer picked it up in 2022.

  • AmeliaIslander (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

@HonkHonk - where did you see that? I must've missed it.

  • eurocol (seller) 8 monthsago

    none

  • HonkHonk (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

I see the car was likely in possession by the government after 2017 and probably just sitting until it went to auction. Did any of your mechanics note anything of concern from that like rodents getting into wiring?

  • AmeliaIslander (registered bidder) 8 months, 1 weekago

I am watching this (despite the blue interior - just not a personal favorite). Haven't made up my mind about the stripes. A question- were the headers (manifolds) replaced at any time? Thanks
