We are pleased to present for auction this 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera S Club Coupe #25 out of a mere fifty ever produced.  The Club Coupe was created as a limited-edition model paying homage to the Porsche Club of America's 50th Anniversary and remains a significant piece of modern Porsche history.  Highlighting bespoke design features, exclusive options, and a factory upgraded engine, it is clear that this is not your average 997.  As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this lifelong California car is being offered in exceptional condition with only 15k miles on the odometer.

Designed specifically for Club members, the PCA worked hand-in-hand with designers in Germany to create the eye-catching sports car that you see today.  The rare and hand-selected Azurro California Metallic comes standard on all 997 Club Coupes and shows to be in like-new condition.  A key design element on the Carrera Club Coupe includes a set of iconic 19” SportDesign wheels which wear Pirelli P-Zero tires with 5k miles of use.

This Club Coupe is finished in a stunning sand beige full leather interior that boasts a variety of exclusive design features such as an Azure Metallic center console, Sport seats, and bespoke “911 Club Coupe” aluminum door sills.  It is said to stand in exceptional condition.  Additional factory options include: the desirable Sport Chrono Package, Sport shifter, navigation, Porsche crest in headrests, aluminum package, 3-spoke steering wheel, and a BOSE® High-End Sound System.

Thanks to the X51 performance package as standard, the Club Coupe features a larger 3.8 L flat-six cylinder engine that is capable of producing 382 HP (+26 above stock) and 306 lb-ft of torque (+11 above stock).  This package also includes modifications to the exhaust and cylinder heads, along with a larger throttle body and carbon fiber air intake. This makes for an impressive 0 to 60 time of only 4.4 seconds and a top speed of over 185 mph.  Performance is enhanced even further due to the Porsche Stability Management System (PASM) which significantly increases handling capabilities.  Service records since new will be provided with the sale showing that the car has always been properly maintained and well cared for.  With a recent service performed, this 997 is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

The sale will include all books, service records, 2 keys, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, DME report, and an original window sticker.

Wow, super COVID discount. I sold mine for $65,500 back in January and it had 56,000 miles on the clock

Granted, mine had PCCB and blue interior, but still....the buyer did very well. Congratulations!

@Digs The color is unique to the 50 produced, is only one of the many characteristics that I love about this car.

    Sapphire Blue is much darker

  • Digs (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@raidersfan I like the color and vintage of this vehicle, but I have to say it's looks mighty similar to Sapphire Blue Metallic. Does anyone have personal experience of seeing , side by side, how marked a difference there is between these two colors?

@Nleonar7 Apparently this question has been answered. No it does not to confirm.

  • raidersfan (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

    @Nleonar7

No, the Club does not. Only the Turbo, 4S, and GT3RS have widebodies in the 997.1 generation. From a price to performance standpoint, a .2 GTS beats the Club Coupe. However, the Club Coupe gets more comments and eyeballs than the GTS does. The color is simply stunning; from my understanding, Porsche would not paint Azzurro Blue on any PTS car for a decade after this car was released.

  • Nleonar7 (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

Does this have the 997 GTS wide body?

@Dozer Yes, it has a Scotchguard clear bra on the front to about halfway up the hood, on the edge of the doors to protect on opening and on the mirrors. A gentleman from the SF Bay Area looked at the car and brought along a paint meter, he found the paint to be within Porsche specs on all surfaces checked, and he checked bumper to bumper. I have never had the car painted and the previous owner stated the paint is original. The paint color is unique to the 50 2006 Club Coupes produced and is beautiful.

  • Dozer (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

All original paint? Any clear bra?

  • butchlobo (seller) 4 years, 6 monthsago

@1000songs Thirty years ago when I first explored buying a Porsche, I freaked out that some cars might have a cracked dash, and that might cost $1000 to replace, or the MFI pump might be worn and costly to fix which caused me to pass up cars now worth 10 times what they were priced at that time. Fear is a funny thing, it needs to be controlled by facts. This is a 15,000 mile collector quality car with the Number 01 produced on display in the Stuttgart Museum. I have taken every step to assure this car is in top shape.

@butchlobo his wife also read something on the www about the IMS bearing and hid under her bed.

Absolutely spectacular car. 997.1 IMS issues are minuscule. Nothingburgers. If you don’t believe me, buy a 997.2 and save yourself unwarranted night sweats.

  • butchlobo (seller) 4 years, 6 monthsago

@Takky Thank you for the question. The IMS bearing was inspected and found to be perfectly fine condition, thus it was not replaced. The IMS bearing seal and cover was replaced, and at the same time a new rear main seal installed. The total cost was $1,743.20 USD. I hope this addresses your question and provides clarity to the earlier IMS response. Thank you again.

butchlobo, are you able to post the dealer invoice for the IMS work that was done? The 2006-2008 engines with the second generation bearing required the engine case to be split in order to replace the bearing - is that what, in fact, was done?

  • butchlobo (seller) 4 years, 6 monthsago

@9teen71 Tough question, it's in superb shape, beautiful and super fun to drive, low miles, I guess it just time to let someone else enjoy it.

  • 9teen71 (registered bidder) 4 years, 6 monthsago

    Why are you selling it?

  • butchlobo (seller) 4 years, 6 monthsago

@raidersfan Thanks for the comments, it is indeed a beautiful car. My favorite Porsche that I have owned to date. Brings a big smile to my face every time I drive it! The previous sale was not consummated because the buyer is hen-pecked and his wife wouldn't let him buy it.

  • raidersfan (registered bidder) 4 years, 6 monthsago

As a previous Club Coupe 997 owner, I love your car!

What happened to the previous transaction? I thought you had a sale. I remember seeing this gorgeous beaut on PCA classified a couple of years ago.

  • butchlobo (seller) 4 years, 6 monthsago

@pagoda69 I had the dealer inspect and replace the IMS bearing seal/cover in 2013 as a normal preventative maintenance program that I put in place. No issues were found at that time and I have put ~3,000 miles of east driving on it since then. Yearly
oil/filter changes and brakes fluid changes, no over-revs, only ranges 1 and 2.

  • pagoda69 4 years, 6 monthsago

Does this engine carry with it the IMS issues? Sorry for not knowing the answer.
