Now available is this 2005 Mercedes-Benz R230 SL 55 AMG finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over an Anthracite leather interior. Tuned by Mercedes’ in-house performance partner AMG, this SL-Class carries a supercharged V8 engine that sends nearly 500 HP to the rear wheels. This AMG model also features unique styling and premium amenities including climatized multi-contour seats and the Harman Kardon Logic 7 Surround Sound System. Having spent nearly its entire life in California and Arizona, this SL 55 is noted to have been very well preserved and is now being offered by its seller out of Illinois while showing just over 15k miles on the odometer.
This R230 is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic. The seller notes some minor road-going chips on the front end as well as slight curb rash on the left front wheel. The underbody is also said to be exceptionally clean with factory alignment markings remaining visible, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. This AMG version can be distinguished from a standard SL by its model-specific front fascia, side skirts, and 18” AMG multi-spoke wheels which are currently dressed in Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires.
Inside, this SL features an Anthracite leather interior with decorative Black Ash wood trim. Other factory features include climatized multi-contour seats, the Parktronic parking-assist system, a panoramic Vario-Roof, Keyless-Go entry, COMAND navigation, and the Harman Kardon Logic 7 Surround Sound System. This R230 is fitted with a handbuilt M113k 5.4L supercharged engine paired with an AMG Speedshift 5-speed automatic transmission. Up to 493 HP and 516 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.5 seconds. Other performance features include an AMG Sport Suspension with Active Body Control, AMG High-Performance braking system, and the AMG Sport Exhaust System with quad chrome tips. Maintenance history is provided on CARFAX and the most recent service included an oil and filter change as well as the replacement of the rear trunk latch. A collection of sertvice records is also said to accompany the sale.
